Canadian Mist is among the top twenty largest spirit brands in the US (by volume), despite continuously declining sales over the past few decades. In recent years the brand has seen improving sales trends and received accolades for its award winning quality. Canadian Mist loyalists love the brand for it’s everyday affordable quality, smooth taste and unpretentious character.
Canadian Mist is looking for “out of the box” ideas to create brand attraction, trial and adoption that will return Canadian Mist to sales growth among a growing multicultural US population where Canadian Mist is already outpacing it’s competition. The brand is looking to focus new programs on younger audiences between the ages of 21-35.
Please submit the following:
1) Propose an innovative marketing idea that will increase sales and awareness of Canadian Mist whiskey among multi-cultural consumers between 21-35 years old. Specifically, submit the following as part of your solution:
a. What specific social occasions (dinners, parties, etc.) should Canadian Mist target as part of its marketing?
b. What marketing ideas within these occasions could increase brand attraction, trial and adoption?
c. What are the best media platforms to promote the program to a multi-cultural audience?
