One of the biggest trends in cooking today is the finishing sauce, a tasty sauce that can be added to meat before or after cooking to take kitchen creations to the next level. Finishing sauces add flavor without compromising the interior of the protein, creating a more exciting dining experience.
Finishing sauces can be used during or after baking, grilling, frying, or sautéing, and can help even novice cooks seem like pro chefs.
Propose a finishing sauce for meat, to be sold on the grocery store condiment aisle, that will make meals great. Specifically, address the following questions:
- What flavor should your finishing sauce be? What ingredients will it have? What form is it in: a smooth sauce, a concentrate, a powder mix, a rub, or something else?
- What meats should your finishing sauce be paired with? Are there certain preparations (baking, grilling, etc.) that would really make your finishing sauce stand out best? Should it be applied right before, during, or right after cooking?
- Detail how the cook uses your finishing sauce? How is it applied: in the pan, directly to the meat, or maybe on the plate as a serving element?
- What is the packaging like? Would single-serve be a good idea, or should this come in a family size bottle? Or maybe something totally different? Let us know!
- What should we name this new product?
CRITERIA: We are not interested in the following: marinades or barbecue sauces. Please try to keep your ingredients list "clean label," meaning no preservatives.
