Cabinet Co | Next Challenge: How do you think about the technological safety needs of children and other dependents? |
Do you wish you had an easy way to organize the contents in your household / kitchen cabinets? What if there was a cabinet solution that could help you neatly store your pots and pans, keep your cutlery organized, or display your dishes? We are a cabinet company that wants to make your storage dreams come true! Specifically, we want to hear your ideas for new and unique storage solutions within a cabinet . We've identified several organizational problem areas where consumers could benefit from better cabinet storage:
- cookie sheet / trays
- deep drawer storage (e.g. a deep drawer box that may be 10" as opposed to a more shallow utensil drawer)
- spices
- cutlery
- pots and pans
- utensils
- dishes
- vanity solutions (i.e. ideas for bathroom cabinets that may hold hair dryers, makeup, medicine, toiletries, etc.)
- storage for warehouse / Costco-sized purchases
- food (please keep new packaging in mind)
We want you to choose one of these areas (or propose your own!) and design a solution for better organization / storage within a cabinet.
Please note: We've already received a high number of ideas for the "spice" category as of 7/23, so please strongly consider submitting an idea for one of the other categories. This will increase your odds of winning one of the prizes.
Once you've selected your topic area (e.g. spices, utensils, etc.), please answer the following:
- What is your new and unique storage solution within a cabinet? Give us the details along with any materials, technologies, etc. that may be required to make it work.
- How does it create better storage / organization within a cabinet? Why would people love to have this storage solution?
- What does your idea look like? Provide a visual (sketch, drawing, CAD rendering, etc.) so we can see what you have in mind! This does not need to be professional, but it does need to be included.
A few things to remember....
- We are looking for ideas that are very outside-of-the-box. Please do not propose something that is already on the market or easily searchable online. Since we are a cabinet company, there are a lot of ideas we've already thought of, so we are digging deep for something creative and new!
- Your storage solution does not necessarily need to be built into the cabinet itself. For example, it could be something you buy and place into a cabinet for better organization (e.g. a utensil organizer from IKEA)
