WD is one of the largest computer hard disk drive manufacturers
in the world. Data storage implemented locally can address the common concerns of privacy and security of cloud storage. It can also provide a more responsive user experience by avoiding internet traffic bottlenecks.
We’d like to prototype applications on top of this secure and fast environment. The framework would include 1) Mass storage drive and 2) Raspberry Pi based web server supporting a Local Area Network (not connected to the internet).
Submit the following:
1) A use case for where this framework could be especially beneficial (type of business/home application where security/speed matters)
2) A design document for how you would build this application to maximize security and/or speed.
Criteria:
Top ideas will use creative approaches to maximize application security or speed.
