Cosmos is a real-time Massively Multiplayer Online space game where players can build a space empire entirely in their browsers. Players will be able to explore, fight, craft, build, and trade with their friends in an infinite online universe.

In Cosmos, everything is made of blocks that players can interact with, craft, and use to build (think Minecraft). This includes players' ships, the parts on their ships, space stations, and even planets and asteroids! Players compete for resources which they can use to create bigger and more advanced blocks for things like faster engines, stronger armor, and more powerful weapons!
Right now, the blocks in our game are icons of what they should actually be; for example, the engine doesn't actually look like an engine, it looks like an icon of an engine. You'll probably want to take a look at our game to get a better sense of what I'm talking about. We've put up a small demo version here:
Your job is to design blocks that more closely resemble their respective real-life objects. As of now, we have 5 different bock types:
1) Engine
2) Thruster
3) Laser
4) Armor
5) Resources (Carbon, Iron, etc.)
Please submit images (any image format is fine) for at least 3 of the blocks in our game, and at least 1 image showing a ship made out of blocks.
Special consideration will be given for submissions that include multiple designs per block and/or more than 3 block designs!
For additional clarification & inspiration on block design, check out our trailer here: Cosmos Trailer
Criteria:
Re-design the graphics of our game as follows:
1) Ships in Cosmos should look like ships that are impressive enough to where you'd want to take a screenshot and share it with your friend. That's how cool it should be.
2) Blocks should be recognizable. When I'm looking at my ship, I should be able to immediately tell which are the engine blocks, the laser blocks, the thruster blocks, the shield blocks.
3) The design must be very different from what we're doing now. We’re not really interested in icons. We want an engine to look like a legit engine, not an icon of an engine. We are interested in anything that fulfills the above two criteria and we want lots of different creative submissions that meet these criteria.

Submissions will be graded on the following criteria:
- Meets Deliverables
- Creativity
- Clarity
will receive $150
