Sample cover letter for Full Time position at ACE Consumer Electronic

POSITION:

Business analyst

Dear Mr. Smith,

I was referred to you by Susan Stark who recommended that I contact you regarding potential

opportunities in strategy with ACE Consumer Electronics. Most recently, I have worked for

three years in credit card marketing at Bank of America. In evaluating consumer profiles and

product positioning, I worked very closely with our strategy group to identify various market

trends that affected our business. I very much enjoyed the collaboration and big-picture thinking

I was able to do in this cross-departmental effort.

One aspect of my job that I particularly enjoyed was performing competitive analysis. I

undertook a study of major credit card issuers and demographic changes in their key customer

bases. This study was ultimately reviewed by the Senior Vice President of Marketing and later

incorporated into a presentation to the Board of Directors. This presentation, in turn, resulted in

the launch of a credit card targeted at teenagers, a segment of the population with tremendous

aggregate disposable income.

In addition to my great interest in strategy, I also have a personal passion for consumer

electronics and am looking to combine these in a strategy role at a leading consumer

electronics company, such as ACE.

I would very much appreciate the opportunity to speak with you about potential opportunities

at ACE Consumer Electronics. I have attached a copy of my resume so that you may see more

about my background. I will follow up with you next week to see if there is a mutually

convenient time for us to talk. Alternatively, please feel free to contact me at the number or

email address noted below.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Best regards,

Helen Lin
