I have graduated from the Sheffield Hallam University, UK with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree majoring in electrical and electronics. I am writing to express my interest in the Analyst Position with AIA. My engineering degree has equipped me with a solid technical background and the capability to solve problems. On top of that, several years of entrepreneurial experience helped build my strong communication skills, high level of self-initiative, and becoming an independent learner. All of these prepared me well for the financial industry with a never-ending learning curve. AIA’s commitment to the professional growth of its people and diverse, team oriented environment is appealing to me.

As a founder of a IT system integration company, I have successfully promoted and marketed my services to a number of high-end retailer in Malaysia including Fred Perry Malaysia and Singapore, Crocs Malaysia, Li Fung Kids Malaysia, etc. During this time, I learned how to successfully motivate and direct a team of four towards a common goal of the company in the area of IT industry. As a solution provider, our team worked across different discipline according to client needs; these include business continuity, data recovery, surveillance systems and POS systems. Through these work experiences, I have further developed my problem solving skills including proficiencies for recognizing problems, breaking them apart, and then providing appropriate courses of actions and deliverables. In order to continue my career as a Professional Business Analyst, I have sold the business. Prior to this venture, I joined FancyBugs Pte. Ltd., a retail and distribution company as an operations and development manager. I persuaded the management of the urgency of digital transformation across the business at all levels, and successfully carried out all the implementation from start to finish of ERP system. I have also directed an e-commerce project which has not only increased total revenue by 16%, but also provided the company with great branding and increased international awareness, and subsequently many sales agreements have been made with different international wholesalers. Additionally, participation across departments in making management decisions has allowed me to develop my interest in Business Administration. I started my entrepreneur journey at the age of 17, and continue doing so until the end of my degree program. I believe my unique entrepreneurial exposure, combined with the skills I gained during employment as an operations and development manager – analytical thinking, problem solving, and communication – would be beneficial to AIA.
