Sample cover letter for Full Time position at Abbott

POSITION:

Product Manger

I am ambitious sales and marketing professional with over 6 years of biotechnology and life science experience. I am asking to be considered for the open Product Manager position.

What differentiates me from other candidates is that I have the ability to not only understand the technology, but also the ability to effectively communicate product information and market the product in a way that allows the sales team to achieve their goals.

Currently I work in a multi-faceted sales and marketing role with an emerging medical diagnostics company, Nanosphere Inc. For the past 4 years I have held various titles at Nanosphere and greatly contributed to the significant revenue growth and sales team expansion. I would like to bring my talents to Abbott Diagnostics to help grow the business and contribute to a exciting and fast-growing company.

In addition to my work experience, I have a strong and well-rounded academic background. Last August, I graduated from the University of Chicago – Booth School of Business. While there I received rigorous analytical and problem-solving training in Marketing, Operations, and Strategy. Prior to Chicago Booth I received a Master’s of Science in Biotechnology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. This program gave me a unique perspective on the scientific and regulatory components of the pharmaceutical industry. I began my academic career at the University of Wisconsin – Madison where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.

I have set up appointments with current employees to discuss the culture at Abbott more in depth. In the meantime, please find my resume attached. I look forward to speaking with you about this opportunity and I thank you for your consideration.
