RE: Accenture Management Consulting Analyst Intern

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am a driven and outgoing student at the Richard Ivey School of Business (HBA program) completing my third year of study, and I am eager to gain professional experience in consulting. Accenture attracts me as a company of choice because of your focus on providing exemplary global services, based on industry-leading expertise. Having had the opportunity to speak with many of your firm’s employees, I was very impressed with Accenture’s strong people culture and the emphasis put on diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Being part of an organization that celebrates individuality and leverages peoples’ differences to ensure they excel in their roles is something I greatly value, as it helps to solidify my confidence that Accenture will provide an excellent environment for my career development, success, and future growth. I am stimulated by innovative, challenging, and fast-paced work settings, and possess humility, integrity, and professionalism. Ultimately, I am confident that I can be an asset to the Accenture team by contributing my problem solving, interpersonal, and analytical skills, coupled with my ability to perform in high pressure and critical situations.

Upon starting university, I joined a non-profit organization called SOS. Our mission was to raise money by hosting exam review sessions, in order to fund different sustainability projects in the underdeveloped communities of Latin America. I was elected Marketing VP for the Western Chapter, and it was my responsibility to increase awareness through different platforms such as social media, campaigns, events, informative videos, brochures etc. This role was difficult at first due to the low awareness and lack of effective marketing tactics in past years. However, by the end of the 2014-2015 school year, I was overjoyed with our success as we were able to raise a total of $15,600! During the summer we utilized the funds to travel to Peru and build a local classroom for families who did not have the financial means to send their children to school in the city. Through this experience, I learned teamwork, responsibility, flexibility, and time management in balancing the day-to-day tasks of this role together with the demanding university workload. Furthermore, serving as a captain and a player on many competitive sports team, I have demonstrated leadership, strong time management and communication skills that will be beneficial to me when working with a diverse set of individuals on critical tasks in an advisory role at Accenture.

I am particularly interested in this position because Accenture is recognized as one of the leading providers of management consulting services globally. I would relish the opportunity to work in multiple industries, geographies and functions, where I would have the ability to learn and bring about positive change. I am drawn to the idea of being able to deliver an executable strategy to clients in order to solve their pressing business problems and help them achieve tangible, long-term value. Two summers ago, I worked as a Data Analyst Advisor at Ryerson University where I utilized some of my problem solving skills and analytical ability. I went above my administrative role and implemented a new web page FAQ for prospective students, as well as helped construct a layout for their new mobile app. The benefits of the app were vast, as it allowed interested applicants easy access to the most vital information without overwhelming the Ryerson staff with constant emails and queries.

My personal and professional development has allowed me to sharpen my communication and leadership skills, as well as strengthen my ability to adapt to new people and environments. These attributes will allow me to fit into the firm’s culture and make a strong contribution to the success of the organization. I look forward to meeting with you in the near future to further discuss my qualifications and how they best fit this consulting services position at Accenture.
