Sample cover letter for Internship position at Airbus

Dear Sir or Madam,
Since I know about the great reputation of your company, which is one of the largest manufacturer of commercial aircraft I would really appreciate to be given the chance to do an internship in the department for “Project Controlling” or alternatively “Financial Analysis” for at least three months, starting in [date]. I would prefer to work in Paris, because I would really like to get a working experience in a large city. Moreover, it would be a benefit to get a further opportunity to improve my French and thus Paris is the place I would choose to be.

I’m from [country] and I’m studying Economics at the [University]. It’s a demanding but very interesting study course which particularly focuses on imparting knowledge about economy and applied economical methods. Additionally I’m attending lectures on mathematics, statistics, and business administration. Given the fact that my study course especially pays attention on internationality, several lectures are taught in English and some lectures even just focus on improving our “business”- English or rather French. Due to this fact I’m consequently spending 2 semesters in France at the [University] at the moment.

During my fourth semester I worked at the [company] as a Research assistant, which gave me the opportunity to get a deeper insight at the work of a research institute. My main tasks consisted of data research and statistical analysis about [diverse topics].

What makes me convinced that I’m the right person for this internship is that on the one hand I'm very punctual, reliable and eager to dedicate myself to getting better every single day but I am also very fascinated of planes and the variety of aviation and also very interested in getting an insight of the daily life of a well-respected company like Airbus which has a strong collaboration between France and Germany. I would really enjoy to support your team with my achieved knowledge. I consider myself as being capable of fitting quickly in, as I already shown several occasions, like getting elected as a class representative.
