Sample cover letter for Internship position at AllianceBernstein

POSITION:

Fixed Income Intern

GOT THE JOB? Yes

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is X and I am a third-year student at the University of

X interested in a summer internship opportunity at AllianceBernstein. I am

majoring in Public Policy with a specialization in economics and have taken classes at

both the undergraduate and graduate levels in calculus, economics, policy analysis, and

finance. My coursework and experience working in public finance draw me to the

opportunity to explore a career in the financial services. Please find my resume detailing

my coursework, work experience and extracurricular activities attached.

While I am interested in the opportunities available in equities and multi-asset solutions,

I am especially drawn to a position in fixed income, especially municipalities. My

internships with U.S. Senator X and the Public Defender Service of

X have given me familiarity with government entities’ operations and

financial constraints. Last summer, I worked at X, a public-private

initiative focused on economic development in the Chicago area. I served as a policy

intern in X’s infrastructure strategy division, where I researched funding models and

public-private- partnerships for various infrastructure projects and assisted in X’s

Chicago Riverwalk Expansion project. I gained exposure to corporate financial

calculations and the valuation and financing of projects.

I believe an opportunity at AllianceBernstein would give me invaluable knowledge about

the field of public finance and expound upon my previous work in infrastructure strategy.

Thank you for taking the time to review my resume and cover letter. If you have any

questions, please contact me at X or X. I look

forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

X
