Sample cover letter for Internship position at AllianceBernstein
Client Group Intern
Dear Human Resources Department,
I am a rising senior at --------------- majoring in finance and minoring in economics. I have researched your Client Group Summer Internship program, specifically the Investments Intern position, and I am extremely interested in securing a position as an intern at your firm.
My first step towards a professional career is to apply for an internship at your esteemed firm to increase my spectrum of career oriented experiences and knowledge. In the past, I have gotten involved in leadership opportunities that I felt could best help me grow as an individual. As you can see from my resume, I have secured a position as an Assistant Director for Academics and Alumnae Relations as well as the Vice President of a prestigious honor society. In these positions, I manage and allocate large monetary funds, and carefully plan for the development and execution of student scholarships, virtual resources to aid student academics, and maintain constant communication with large groups of alumnae.
I believe that I would succeed in the firm’s driven environment and my devotion, capabilities, and work ethic would make me a valuable asset to your firm. This past semester, I took part in a competition where multiple groups competed against each other as companies to secure the highest values in Return on Equity, Earnings per Share, and Credit Rating. This competition involved conducting detailed analyses on our competitors, writing reports and memos on our learnings, and presenting our business model to our instructor at various points of the semester. At the conclusion of the competition, my team and I had secured first place in the competition. This experience gave me valuable experience that would make me a strong candidate for an AB Investments Intern in Retail in the Client Group Summer Internship program.
My resume reflects my dedication towards my responsibilities, my ability to take initiative, and my overall work ethic. Overall, I am a person that likes to be challenged and take on exciting opportunities. The skill that I would most like to highlight in my application is my ability to take initiative. In the past, I have not only fulfilled my position requirements, but I have also reformed many aspects of the job. I can best describe this as my ability to recognize what needs change and actively working on it.
My interest in being a part of the team at AllianceBernstein derives from its impressive reputation and willingness to nurture the education of undergraduates. The stature of your firm is best captured through its global presence and unique approach to client service. The firm’s global clientele, knowledgeable employees, and established internship program would best supplement my undergraduate education.
I would truly appreciate the opportunity to speak with someone at your firm to further explain my candidacy as an AllianceBernstein intern. After speaking with Susan Flanagan about her experience as a manager at AllianceBernstein, I would cherish the opportunity to apply my skills in your firm as my first professional experience.
Sincerely,
-------
