GOT THE JOB? Yes
Dear Hiring Manager,
It was with great enthusiasm that I read the announcement for the position of Executive Assistant to the CEO posted on XXX. Because of my unique qualifications, and almost a decade of experience, I believe that I would be an excellent addition to your team. I hold a Master’s degree in International Affairs from XXXX University, and a B.A. in Languages from the XXXX University in XXXX, where I studied and worked for over twenty years. I have native fluency in English and Spanish, and I am proficient in French.
As Executive Assistant to the President and CEO of XXXX I managed a complicated calendar, prioritized meeting schedules and projects, maintained all files and reconciled expenses. I played a key role in preparing, editing and distributing quarterly Board of Directors meeting books and I was in charge of taking, writing and distributing meeting minutes.
During my time as Administrative Assistant at XXXX I managed an intense meetings and travel schedule for the Deputy Head of Regional Delegation. The four years I spent as Assistant to the Director at the XXXX, allowed me to gain extensive experience in outreach, particularly in planning large and small conferences, including three visits from XXXX Heads-of State; managing all necessary event publicity; and assisting with post-conference publications. The enormous task I undertook in increasing the number of events held at XXX from 30 per year to almost 100 per year, highlights many of my attributes including creativity, organizational skills, and strong motivation. During my time at XXX, I was also in charge of editing the semiannual newsletter XXXand our weekly newsletter XXX and in 2003 I worked closely with the Financial Affairs Director to write a successful XXXgrant from the Department of XXX.
