My name is xx xx and I am a junior at xxx, majoring in Marketing. I expect to graduate in December of 2016. I am very excited to apply for the American Express 2016 Marketing Summer Internship. American Express embodies every aspect of an innovative and boundary-pushing organization and I’d love to have the opportunity to intern with this world-class brand.

I have participated in many different organizations and have held positions that have given me the experience needed to exemplify American Express’ ideologies of innovation, customer service and integrity. I discovered my passion for marketing while on the xxxxx  study abroad program last summer. While exploring four European cities, we had the opportunity to visit several companies and hear from many professionals whose motivation and innovative accomplishments were truly inspiring. I plan to bring their exemplary motivation and enthusiasm with me to American Express.

While studying abroad I was able to further develop my passion for consumer behavior. I worked with a team over the course of three weeks to create and present a xxxxxxx for the xxxxx campaign. We researched European consumer behavior and ultimately constructed a detailed plan to infiltrate the international market. The project was a great hands-on experience that provided me with a realistic example of producing a marketing campaign and handling the challenges that arise along the way.

I pride myself on being a conscientious, reliable and trustworthy individual. I enjoy being in situations that challenge my skills and knowledge in order to overall improve. I have extensive experience in working with databases and analytical software, including Microsoft Excel, SPSS and IBM Cognos. My independent persona and proactive nature, along with diverse experiences, make me an ideal candidate for the position.
