Dear Sir/Madam

Please consider my application for Risk and Information Management Intern at American Express for summer 2016. My interest in AmEx lies on two major planks. Firstly, the firm is well-reputed for its structured summer training programmes. An association with the Risk and Information Management Team will give me a peek at the real-life problems and teach me to apply the technical knowledge I have acquired so far. Secondly, I am looking forward to a career with American Express, and hence, this internship, which will serve as an entry point for that.

Being trained as an engineer, I am always on a lookout for opportunities that emphasize innovation, analysis and problem-solving.

I have done Data Analytics Course (named “The Data Scientist’s ToolBox”) from John Hopkins University, through Coursera which will come in handy during the internship. Secondly, I was employed as a Sales and Marketing Intern at SAB Miller India Ltd. For the promotion of their brand “Foster’s”, I devised and executed a business plan that pushed up the sales of its brand Foster’s by nearly 10%. Besides these, I have excellent communication and leadership skills through my attachment with past internships, various in-campus societies and activities.
