Sample cover letter for Internship position at Apple

POSITION:

Materials Engineer Scientist

Dear Apple, Why does someone become an engineer? I became an engineer to help create the products and services that people dream of today, but are yet to be created. It is no secret that your company is known for being on the cutting edge of technology, both from an aesthetic and functional perspective. I believe that having the opportunity to work as an engineer is a gift that shouldn’t be wasted by working on mundane and uninspiring projects. This is why I have such a strong desire to work for Apple. I want to work for a company that does more than meet the status quo. It is important to me to be a part of a company that is redefining what is perceived as possible in order to make the world of tomorrow better than it is today. I believe that I would be a strong addition to your company. I am able to work very well in cross-functional teams in order to complete a project or task. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a minor in Engineering Management, which allows me to effectively relate technical tasks and projects to the business world in order to show economic value. I have many years of research and internship experience in a variety of different fields. This shows that I can learn quickly and excel in new challenges and tasks that may present themselves at your company. Finally, I have numerous references that will attest to my ability to think analytically, work well in team situations, provide effective leadership, all supporting my strong technical and business acumen. I would like the opportunity to meet and discuss how I might become a part of your organization and play a part in your pursuit of pushing the envelope on technology. Thank you for reviewing my letter and resume and I look forward to hearing from you.
