Sample cover letter for Internship position at Appnexus

POSITION:

Analyst

June 6, 2016

Dear Hiring Team:

It is with great enthusiasm that I submit this application for the position of Associate Technical Account Manager, EMEA. As a recent graduate with almost 2 years’ of experience in digital media and advertising technology, I know my varied skill-set will make me an asset to the Services team.

As you can see from my CV, I have honed relevant skills through a variety of roles. As an Intern Account Manager at Tradedoubler for instance, I became familiar with ad network business models and acquired exposure to the inner workings of an advertising technology company. Moreover, as an Advertising Sales Intern at Spotify, I developed expertise across the full media sales cycle from pre-sales through to campaign execution. My most recent position as a Programmatic Trader for a leading agency trading desk exposed me to programmatic media buying, campaign management, the AppNexus DSP and the overall advertiser/agency offering. I sincerely enjoy this space; I thrive in a highly technical and data-driven environment, and I want to maintain a strong position at the forefront of programmatic buying going forward.

In addition to being technology and data-oriented, I am an excellent communicator, particularly in client-facing situations. As an Account Management Intern (ad-tech), I delivered technical support (e.g. pixel implementation and tracking) to over 15 blue-chip advertisers and worked autonomously to prepare and lead external training workshops configured to their business objectives. As an initiative-taker, I took ownership of the sales pipeline during my time with Spotify, and independently managed over 40 leads per week to ensure sales targets were met in line with KPIs. Similarly, I have operated independently to identify, test and analyse opportunities for campaign improvement as a Programmatic Trader; I always seek opportunities to take ownership and challenge myself. Aside from my confidence to work autonomously, I am also a great team player with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, whether it be in situations requiring me to work with various support functions to troubleshoot client issues, or identifying areas to deepen customer relationships in partnership with Account Managers.

Last but certainly not least, I maintain useful technical skills. During my time with Tradedoubler, I often leveraged knowledge of APIs and Excel VBA to build dashboards for both clients and internal use, generating an efficient system for reporting through automated data structuring and analysis. For skills I lack, previous employers can vouch for my ability to grasp processes and technical concepts quickly; I am extremely eager to grow and I thrive in a collaborative culture of learning and teaching.

In closing, I am thrilled at the prospect of developing my expertise and affecting positive change through a challenging client-facing role within a leading ad-tech company. Given the fantastic platform, I believe AppNexus is where my passion for this industry will flourish and I could not be more confident in my ability to hit the ground running as an Associate Technical Account Manager.

Sincerely,

x
