I was drawn to apply for a position in your company as I am extremely passionate about the financial markets and actively follow the latest trends in the equities markets with the intention of seeking new investment ideas and opportunities.

In both my academic endeavors as well as my extracurricular activities, I have learned to tackle complex problems and reach sound solutions both as an individual decision-maker and as a team member. Through my academic work, I have developed a better understanding of evaluating a company’s financial performance and have solidified my understanding through an investment fund that I along with seven other teammates started. I believe my leverage in these areas coupled with my analytical skills will enable me to make a significant contribution as a summer intern.

Additionally, through my experience of maintaining a small student run investment fund at USC, I have learned to assess a situation or conflict as it arises, decide on a course of action, and evaluate its success in the long term. Whether it is finding opportunities for increased participation through coordinating investing talks by professors or streamlining tasks to members within the fund to ensure that sufficient due diligence is performed, I have pushed myself to find new ideas to tackle the challenges of managing an investment fund. Likewise, my experience serving in the army has served to teach me valuable soft skills needed in a collaborative workplace. With formal hierarchy that demands performance from their soldiers, I have learnt to efficiently analyze problems and communicate my ideas in dynamic work environment, as well as prioritize and manage many situations that demand my attention from different ends. In the same way, I am eager to learn and apply my knowledge and expertise at Ares Management LLC.
