Sample cover letter for Internship position at Arizona State University

POSITION:

Student Worker

I am interested in the part-time position as Lab Assistant at Language Labs. Currently, I am enrolled as a graduate student (Major: Computer Science) and I joined ASU in spring 2015. My areas of interest include Web Technologies (ASP.NET, Ruby on Rails) and Computer Networks including Software-defined Networks. I have also completed/pursuing several courses related to Distributed Systems and I am well versed with Hadoop and other big data tools like Pig, Scoop, and Hive.

Furthermore, in addition to my computer science background, I have excellent communication skills and an aptitude for customer service. I have experience of working for large projects that require a great deal of collaborative brainstorming. My past experience at <company name> involved a lot of interaction with customers, often irked ones who had to be pacified. Additionally, I gave regular training seminars for new employees at the company where I talked about our product.

I believe that I can contribute positively in this position because of the relevance of this job to my studies. This could potentially be valuable work experience for me.

I hope that my skill set and interest in this position is exactly what you are looking for.

Thank you for your consideration. I can be reached at <phone> or <email>. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
