Dear Ms. Wilson,
After having learned of the Development Internship through Oklahoma City’s PRSA, I began to study both
the organization and the posted internship position. The variety of Arts Council events, programs, and activities that impact nearly one million residents and visitors to the Oklahoma City community is impressive. Having grown up in Oklahoma City and attending Arts Council events, I am excited about the opportunity to work with the Development Office staff in fundraising for the Arts Council of Oklahoma City. As such, please accept my application for the Development Internship position.
You are looking for someone with strong communication and organization skills, as well as an understanding of data processing and event planning. The experience I gained conducting interviews and writing reports as a Contributing Reporter for the Daily O’Collegian, in addition to studying Strategic Communications, has provided me with a unique set of skills that I can bring to the position. I am very much a people person, a communicator, and a strategic and creative thinker, I am confident that my skills are a match to the skills you desire. You also seek someone with the necessary hands-‐on experience to bring confidence to the position. I am privileged to obtain volunteer positions that provide valuable exposer to data processing, social media management, and community relations. As a volunteer with a large nonprofit organization, I am responsible for managing various social media platforms in addition to organizing fundraising events. Therefore I feel that the Development Internship would be an excellent fit for both the organization and me.
