Desire to create a positive impact and a strong urge to learn is what drives me. I am applying for the position of Associate at BCG, because I believe it is the best place for me to take on the challenges faced by many organisations/companies and help them overcome those using my strong leadership, team work, and analytical abilities.
Right from my childhood I have consistently shown excellence in various domains, be it sports, academics or other social activities. Being a team player and the highest run-scorer, I helped my school team win the Inter-School Cricket tournament where numerous Schools from all over the State participated and hence qualified to represent Andhra Cricket Association for the Nationals held in Kerala. Being an experienced player and a strong motivator, I led a whole new inexperienced side of 18 players in the Zonal level cricket tournament which resulted in the selection of 3 players including me into the District level cricket team. Also, a strong will to do and a burning desire to achieve, helped me win a silver medal at the District level Karate Championship and represent my school in the National Level Basketball Championship. Apart from my sporting activities, I have also shown consistent academic distinction. I secured a GPA of 9/10 in class 10th CBSE board, 91% in class 12th CBSE board, and secured an All India Open Category Rank of 1069 in the IIT-JEE examination. Here at IIT Kharagpur, along with maintaining a CGPA of 8.3, my past experiences and adaptive mentality helped IIT Kharagpur Cricket team win Gold and Silver medals at the 50th & 49th Inter IIT Sports Meets respectively. Coordinating with various other members of the Technology Students’ Gymkhana, I served as the Basketball Secretary of IIT Kharagpur for the academic session 2013-14 wherein I handled an annual budget of Rs1.3 Lakhs along with organizing numerous practice matches by negotiating with various clubs and taking new initiatives which helped the Men’s team Bag a Gold Medal in the 49th Inter IIT Sports Meet after a span of 12 years and IIT Kharagpur Contingent finish 3rd overall among a total of 16 other IITs. My attitude of motivating & mentoring people around me and helping them to achieve their goals has led me to become the Department Counsellor of Patel Hall of Residence. Also, my strong leadership and team player abilities along with my positive attitude helped me become the Basketball Captain of Patel Hall. All these show my hard work, determination, a strong sense of leadership, communication and excellent team work abilities.
Whenever I see a challenging situation, the first question that comes to my mind is “What difference can I create? How can I do it in a different way and bring out a better outcome?” Throughout my life till date, there has been an ever increasing desire to create a positive difference and a thirst to learn more, be it in academics or extra-academic. Now, I want to take forward these abilities to the corporate world and help the organizations solve some real life problems. Hence, I believe management consultant is the right position for me.
