Sample cover letter for Internship position at BNP Paribas Fortis

POSITION:

Business Analyst

Dear Mr XXXX,

As a motivated and ambitious master student in Business Engineering at Ghent University, I am extremely interested to apply for a summer internship in Corporate Finance.

Through my study time at the university, I joined the XXXXX in order to improve my management, planning and organising skills. Currently I'm working as a freelance consultant for several transportation firms, managing their annual investments. Last summer I joined Daikin’s process improvement team, leading an inquiry with the purpose increasing the efficiency of their forecasts. I collaborated with colleagues to develop a new model that could be implemented to forecast the demand. These days, my business model is being used by Daikin, after the board was convinced of it’s efficacy. Furthermore I participated in the Solvay Business game and the EY Valuation Workshop. The latter improved my knowledge about valuation methods (DCF, Comparable Companies Analysis, APV) and gave me the possibility to apply the art of valuation alongside professionals.

Finding solutions for financial questions and applying different valuation techniques, made me eager to learn more about this field of expertise. Besides I’m confident that my analytical and communications skills combined with my education in finance make me an ideal candidate for this internship.

I am therefore convinced that XXXXXX, a company with a significant expertise in M&A and Corporate Finance would help me to develop and brush up my knowledge in this field.

I hope we can arrange an interview to discuss my application in more detail, as I am very excited at the possibility of working for The Capital Link.

Sincerely

XXXXX
