Dear Recruiter in Nomura,

I honestly believe I am the right person for the internship vacancy you are offering and I will tell you why in this short motivation letter.

First of all, when we hear the name Nomura, we instantly think of a company of excellence. We think of it as a synonym of hard work and knowledge, of efficiency, strong ethics and ultimately one of the most profitable companies in the financial services industry, worldwide. This is undoubtedly, the kind of company that I want to work for, essentially because I think that I would fit very well in it.

As I hope that you will be able to see from my CV, I have a strong academic background. However, I do not think that it is fair to think of me only as a good student. I consider myself a well-balanced person, who is usually successful in what I set my mind on doing. And the reason for which I usually succeed is not because I have more skill than all my competitors, but simply because I am very competitive, determined and ambitious. I cannot stand losing and was not made for losing. This is why I have succeeded academically, I have succeeded in the sports I have practiced and I have succeeded in the life experience that I was able to get so far.

Another aspect about myself is that I consider myself as being very good in dealing with people. I love meeting new people and sharing experiences with people from all different backgrounds. It would really mean the world to me to have this opportunity to work in a different company, with a different reality and culture and most of all, to share Nomura’s culture and embrace it.

I am sure that you receive thousands of applications for every position, begging to have the opportunity to learn from you (in the case of internships) and I am no different in that sense – I want to learn from you obviously – but what I honestly want as well is to help your company any way I can in return. I am currently taking my International Masters in Management with a major in Corporate Finance and although I still have much to learn, I guarantee that everything I know at this point, I will put it to use and try as hard as I can to help the company.
