Dear Hiring Manager,

It is with great excitement that I submit my application for the position of Associate Consultant Intern in Bain & Company. I became especially interested when I attended the company’s information session at the University of Apple (UA). A leader myself, I am driven to work for a firm self-motivated to always be at the forefront of its industry. Valuing teamwork, I also look for a company with dynamic corporate cultures that inspire me to work harder as well as giving me a sense of belonging. I am pleased to find that Bain & Company offers this and beyond.

The most valuable contribution I will bring to Bain is my growth mindset. I firmly believe that there is always space for everything to improve as long as I look into the system to identify problems and strive to come up with optimized solutions. This positive mindset is evident in my leadership engagement at UA.

I am a Program Director of the Big Siblings Program in Apple House, UA’s volunteer center, where I coordinate a group of 15 volunteers to assist in classroom activities in a local pre-school. By carefully observing and reflecting upon volunteers’ experience, I identified a problem that was limiting the program’ impact: the school’s staff tended to leave volunteers interact with the children in their own ways, which sometimes did not align with the school’s educational goals. I raised this issue to the school and bridged the communication gap between the staff and the volunteers. Now, volunteers are aware of interacting with children under the same methodology of the school. I am very proud to see that this consistency is generating a huge amount of synergy in the school

In addition to Apple House, I am also president of Apple Music Group. I am dedicated to fulfilling the organization’s mission of promoting musical awareness in the UA community. While our team is comprised of 25 full-time students with busy schedules, I hold the group accountable to our weekly rehearsals. Nevertheless, I am alert that rehearsing in an isolated context will lead the group to complacency and myopia. Therefore, I actively reach out to musicians from the UA community and invite them to conduct workshops for the band. In this way, I ensure that the team is constantly reminded of our limitation and thus is motivated to improve. In addition, I am pushing the band one step further by planning a Apple Music Concert in the UA’s Fresh Apple Hall auditorium. To make it happen, I have been leading the group to raise funds from the UA community. So far, we have secured one fourth of the funds needed and anticipate the rest to come very soon.

I love the sense of achievement when I make a difference in people’s life using problem solving skills. This is why I decided to apply for the internship position in consulting at Bain & Company. With the determination to contribute my intelligence, my problem solving skills and my growth mindset to Bain, I am sure that I will be a valuable asset to the company.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Should you have any questions, please kindly reach me by (123) 456-7890 or [email protected].

Sincerely,

Fresh Apple Sauce
