Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to briefly explain you my motivations to join Bain & Company. Through these paragraphs I would like to convince you that strategy consulting is the right career path for me and that Bain is the right place.

Bain stands out as a reference amongst the World Strategy Consulting Firms for its uniqueness and professionalism which has contributed to hold a leadership role within several industries such as Pharmaceutical, Procurement, Industrial goods and Services.

I believe my interest in Strategy Consulting started since I realize that this industry would expose me to a wide variety of business problems in multiple industries. In the strategy consulting world, intellectual curiosity is emphasised over expertise, and this, from my point of view is a really important advantage of a job.

After my Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering I am coursing a Double Master’s degree, both in Industrial Engineering and in Business Administration. Throughout my university education I have improved my analytic skills and my ability to find several ways to reach a same problem solution.

During my last summers I have done Internships in a renewable energy company, where I firstly took place in the Energy assessment Department as a forecasting analyst. In this summer internship I undertook a project where I had to prepare a metheorogical forecast model for Rumania’s wind parks. I felt really enthusiastic after this work experience because I felt like I had done a piece of work that would be useful for further analysis in the department. Secondly in the Purchasing Department, where I supported the whole process (request for proposal, selection of bidders, commercial specifications, centralizing communications, supporting the commercial analysis and supporting Technical Department in offer analysis, among others). I also enjoyed very much this summer internship since I performed two important purchases, and what the process involves, and took a leader position in the purchases operations.

During my college career I studied in different languages: Spanish and English, allowing me to improve my language skills, to become fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English. In addition, this experience has equipped me with a very international profile; having lived in a diversified environment very similar to the Bain & Company seems to have.

I am confident my university education and my work experiences along with my interests in Strategy Consulting would make me a strong candidate to work at Bain & Company. I look forward to hearing from you.
