I am interested in pursuing the Banking Summer Analyst position at your firm. I recently met xxx from the M&A division at Barclays during a Career Fair xxx and was impressed by the Barclays’ culture and opportunities available.

The rotational nature of the internship will expose me to different aspect of the Banking division, provide me with great training and learning opportunities and also enable me to make an informed decision on my career path and specialization. Also, Barclays is a truly global bank with extensive international presence in Europe, the Americas, Asia and an increasing presence in Africa highlighted by the merger with ABSA earlier this year.

In my role at xxx, I worked on a restructuring project that aimed to align the legal, financial and commercial structures of 19 different entities into a single company. This experience taught me the importance of understanding the different aspects of an organisation, an understanding of how to deal with needs of different people and providing clear and accurate information in response to those needs, and to work effectively in a team. I believe my contribution helped increase contract compliance in the organisation and the transition project in general. While pursuing my undergraduate degree, I worked at a Consulting Company where I was in charge of logistics for events, wrote different proposal and presentations, attended sales meetings and produced outputs. I improved my communication skills, analytical skills and the ability to plan and execute tasks. I took the initiative, worked well under pressure and according to time constraints. I am currently volunteering at the xxx of Commerce as a researcher and translator.
