Sample cover letter for Internship position at Barclays

POSITION:

Summer Internship

Firstly, banking is both my major and my real interest. I really love learning banking and prepare myself for a banking career. Every time I sit in the lecture room of International Banking, I wish the time could slow down so that I could enjoy more valuable and inspiring time to listen to what my lecturer says. In my spare time, I turn on Bloomberg brief video every morning to absorb more commercial and global finance information. I love reading banking materials and reference in my university library in order to expand my knowledge. My parents and friends say that, my eyes shine with excitement and exaltation when I talk about banking topics. It would be amazing if I could apply the knowledge I learnt from lecture to a real working experience in a Barclays’s internship. Secondly, I am applying for the role of Personal and Corporate Banking & Barclaycard, which is the area I am familiar with and have interest in. I believe it is the most diverse department with innovation, which helps me to get exposure to three different areas in one role. Also, this role is suitable for me due to the clients, since I could support my team by bringing my communication skills. I would like to use my academic and working skill to make an impact on this internship. Barclays’s internship programme can also unlock my potential by providing a great platform. I am an existing consumer of Barclays. I also recommended my friend to open an bank account in Barclays, especially after Barclays introduced the contactless card and Pingit as the first lead of the UK’s bank sector. By creation and innovation, Barclays keeps growing rapidly with large potential. I would like to contribute actively to this growth rather than being just a witness.
