Sample cover letter for Full Time position at Bechtel

I am a final year MEng student at the University of XXXXX writing to apply to your Mechanical Engineering graduate scheme. I see myself as a keen and enthusiastic individual who has consistently proved to be a successful team member, having worked on multiple group projects during my University program. I feel that I am ready to gain hands on experience in your industry as well as working towards chartered status.

I have been involved in working on live engineering schemes at XXXXX over summer 2011 and 2012, and although this was mainly electrical consultancy in the rail industry I found that I was quick to learn how to use the necessary software and apply it to enable me to complete challenging tasks and meet strict deadlines. I would love to be able to apply myself in an industry much closer to what I have learnt in my degree program and the opportunity that you present at Bechtel Limited is something that I would relish. The international prospects that Bechtel offers is something that particularly excites me, and I know that this could lead to working on diverse projects enabling me to deepen my experience in the industry.
