Sample cover letter for Internship position at Berenberg Capital Markets

I am writing in response to Berenberg Capital Markets’ offer of a 8-week undergraduate placement, which I saw at my university's Career Centre. Please find my CV enclosed for your consideration.

I am currently a student at X, in the first year of a three- year programme leading to a X, and this placement would be an ideal opportunity for me to put my theoretical knowledge into practice whilst gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. I very much want to gain work experience in Britain, and doing this in the sales sector would be especially motivating.

I believe I am appropriate for this position not only due to my coursework, but also because I am preparing for the Chartered Financial Analyst Level 1 Program test from which I will acquire knowledge to understand financial analysis, quantitative methods and ethical and professional standards.
