I was recently introduced to your firm via the BlackRock networking event in our faculty and was impressed with what I learned of your culture and working environment from current employees including xx and xx. I am interested in pursuing an Analyst position in BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI) team at your firm, and have enclosed my resume and background information below.

I have a genuine interest in asset management and am eager to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the alternative investment industry. I previously completed an internship performing quantitative analysis, and gained in-depth research experiences in performance evaluation for Hedge Funds and Mutual Funds. I also had an opportunity to work on collecting, preparing, and organizing the data on mutual funds, which were utilized for further performance analysis. The work was praised for quick learning ability and attention to details by the employer.

I am a UK national who has lived in the UK, China, Taiwan, and Germany and can speak English, Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese, and German. I achieved excellent academic prizes and graduated with the 1^st place honour in xx BSc and expect to gain merit on the MSc in xx. While being a project manager in a business solution project in Karlsruhe, Germany, I collaborated with my group mates and developed strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills both among the team and with customers based in Wales, UK. One of my greatest achievement was gained when I was a representative in a student society in Taiwan. I dedicated to resource funding through various means and collaborated with people within and outside the society in order to expand the society. During this period, I developed high degree of organization and independent thinking whilst multi-tasking and making appropriate decisions.

Given my background in quantitative finance and leadership experiences, I am a particularly good fit for the BAI team at your firm. I am impressed by your track record of hedge funds, funds of funds and real estate offerings, and currency and commoditiesinvestments and the significant responsibilities given to Analysts, and I look forward to joining and contributing to your firm.
