Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to apply for the Summer Analyst Program in London starting in 2016 and as an expression of my high interest for the finance industry. As a third-year student preparing for the CFA level II Exam at Reims Management School, a top French Grande Ecole, I have been taking my first finance classes for the past years and I have been willing to work in the financial services industry ever since. In this respect, your Summer Analyst Program offer represents a great opportunity for me to further build my career and to learn more about Investment Management jobs.

After passing the baccalaureate with honours, my two following years as a Classe Préparatoire student forced me to be rigorous, deal with an ever-intense pressure and put in countless studying hours, especially to succeed in taking group examinations. Since the beginning of my Business School years, I developed efficient team working skills. For instance, as a Vice President of the Reims Management School’s financial association called “Invest”, I had to lead a 12-people team in order to organize events such as lectures and VBA/Bloomberg formations. Moreover, during my first internship at Conseils et Audit Caennais, I had to audit all internal processes. Thus, I had to gain the trust of the whole team in order to make them help me understand their jobs. Without their support, this task would have been impossible. That achievement laid for me the path to further team-driven challenges and showed me that when genuine motivationand efforts are combined to succeed, ambition pays off individually.

Then, my experience as an Institutional ETF Sales Analyst at Lyxor Asset Management led me to deal with responsibilities. I was given many assignments such as answering clients’ questions about ETFs, analysing competitor ETFs, preparing weekly and monthly reports for our clients as well as conducting comparative studies between active and passive portfolio management. This professional experience allowed me to enhance my sense of rigour and autonomy since I alone was in charge of the records I was entrusted with. I was also able to develop my capacity for macroeconomic analysis and my spirit of initiative through the establishment of tools in order to improve the internal procedures' efficiency.

Having been exposed to numerous players in the industry, BlackRock has consistently impressed me as best in class. This is apparent from the people I have met who work there, and indeed who have worked there in the past. They take pride in their work and show a genuine passion for improving the investment landscape, and this is exactly the type of environment I would like to be a part of. Because of my strong will to work in the financial services industry and an uncompromising determination, I am ready to bring all my energy and enthusiasm to thrive in the BlackRock’s competitive and changing environment. I expect to constantly acquire new skills and knowledge from being involved in dynamic projects, also from being aware of the roles and responsibilities to be a member of your institution. I have also been convinced by the importance and the sense of networking events in your Summer Analyst Program throughout dinners and strong mentoring.
