Sample cover letter for Internship position at Blackrock

POSITION:

Summer Analyst

This is the reference of your advertisement in Targetjobs.co.uk and I am very interested in applying for Summer Analyst Programme.

BlackRock’s success is its management of risk in its actively managed portfolio and it was a leader in mortgage-backed securities. Compare to other banks, another reason of its success based on providing value to customers and paying attention to detail, which is well deserved. BlackRock has received numerous of awards; I was impressed by the recent reward, the coveted Gold Standard Award for the eighth year in succession. I was also excited that BlackRock offers the opportunity for the student to learn some insight into a particular business area and establish a long-term career in BlackRock.

I am in the first year student of a three-year degree course in Banking and International Finance at Cass Business School. I will graduate in June 2018. I am represented the first year course representative in the university. Moreover, I got some work experience in the banking industry. I completed a two months internship at the Economic Intelligence Centre in Bangkok as an analyst trainee under a telecommunication sector. Most of the work I did was highly focused on growth, industry analysis, and strategic direction for both the Bank and clients. The highlight of my experience was writing an article on a newspaper ‘XL Axiata- the 3G leader in Indonesia’s mobile market’. The internship gave me an amazing opportunity to improve analytics skills, problem-solving and developed my understanding of financial information, such as financial statements, company accounts and sector data. The second placement is at SCB Financial Market and Treasury, one of the largest financial institutions in Thailand where I worked as a sale trader trainee in the FOREX market. I have done some day-to-day tasks including placing the order from clients, making price and advising them on market developments and financial risk. I have developed my knowledge about FX products and derivatives as well as gained experience to work in the real trading market.

I think this position is perfectly suited me because I have finance qualification, work experience in the banking and key skills for investment banking. I am adaptability and easy learning person. I have good communication in both oral and written. I have an ability to work under pressure and strong time management skill.

It will be a great pressure to work with you in the future to learn about analyst position and the company’s objectives. I believe my skills and experiences will be able to make a positive contribution to Citi.

Lastly, I have enclosed my resume for your review, and I look forward to discussing my qualifications in more detail. Thank you for the consideration.
