Sample cover letter for Internship position at Bloomberg

POSITION:

Analyst

. I am a penultimate year student at university with a double major in finance and BAIT (business analytics and information technology). My passion for finance stems from my initial interest in financial markets while I was in high school. I did not have a firm grasp on the factors that affected the financial market; as a result, I started self-studying in depth. My double major in finance and BAIT has allowed me to incorporate my passion for finance while integrating a technological foundation; thus, giving me a unique skillset that will be very useful for the program in markets.

Valuing strong critical-thinking and analytical skills, I embrace an innovative approach to each particular problem. I excel at analyzing a problem and implementing a practical and efficient solution with a meticulous attention to detail. Furthermore, I believe that quantitative skills are essential for a successful career in the finance industry. As a result, I have continuously attempted to hone my quantitative skills by self-studying advanced courses in mathematics and statistics. As a motivated self-starter, I am a quick learner as I have taught myself the Bloomberg Terminal and have received a certification. Through my use of the Bloomberg Terminal, it has made me even more interested and passionate to learn about the ever-changing financial markets. As the team leader of the Google Community Leaders case study and Bender Trust research project, I am a trusted and reliable leader with strong communication skills that allow me to work well others. The Bender Trust research project consists of researching any particular stock and making a presentation on its equity. This project has honed my abilities to conduct financial research and build financial models—skills that will be useful to the analyst program.
