As a History student at the London School of Economics, my key skills readily lend themselves to the Summer Finance Insight Programme at Bloomberg. The nature of my degree course has been vital in sharpening my critical and analytical reasoning skills, whilst the level of independent research and written communication has naturally strengthened my existing research and communication skills. Beyond this, my academic successes alongside my extensive commitments have been achieved as a result of effective time-management and organisation. Also, more specifically my previous work experience in marketing means that I have had experience in applying my skills and working within marketing in a professional capacity. For these reasons I am eager to learn more about marketing and research in the near future.
I am eager to intern at Bloomberg because of the fast pace, wide variety of projects, and high performance clients with whom I will be able to work with. Specifically, the opportunity to work on such variety of projects provides me with the prospect of continuing to grow and having a positive impact on the world at the same time; these stand as the key reasons why a career in consulting excites me. Alongside this, Bloomberg’s values align with my own in terms of placing an importance in possessing a competitive drive to be the best in their industry. I am naturally an extremely competitive person and I have found a release through an intense dedication to sport. My past experiences in playing for Tottenham Hotspur FC and Watford FC have not only enhanced my leadership and team work skills, but also provided me with vital experience in valuing and learning from failure which allows me to grow as a result in the process.
