Sample cover letter for Full Time position at Boston Consulting Group
Graduate Scheme
Dear Mr. Petranca,
I am a 2014 graduate of the University of Birmingham with a 2:1 degree in Law (LLB) and a keen interest in corporate finance. During my final year of university, I spoke with alumni of the law school who have utilised their degrees in the financial advisory industry and I have since become fixated on the notion of following their example and making a name for myself in this sector. I was frequently encouraged to apply to The Boston Consulting Group due to its client-focused, team-orientated environment which I believe I would be well suited to.
The Graduate Programme at BCG appeals to me for a vast number of reasons. From reading about early opportunities to engage with clients and become involved with transactions, I admit that I am excited by the high level of responsibility BCG places on new starters and believe I would adapt quickly to the challenging and varied nature of the role. I would also revel in the opportunity to be working aside leading minds in the firm from an early stage as the knowledge I would gain would be invaluable.
Skills I possess which I feel make me an ideal candidate for the programme include my communication and problem-solving skills gained from over 5 years experience in fast-paced, customer service environments and my teamwork skills and increased business acumen gained from my recent role as a Business Consultant at AMCP.
I am a hard working individual who continuously exceeds expectations and is driven by new challenges and the desire to continue learning and furthering myself. I believe my enthusiasm, stamina and current skill set make me a candidate worthy of consideration for the BCG Graduate Programme and I am confident that I could make a significant contribution to the firm. I would therefore be extremely grateful for the opportunity to discuss with you further my interest in the position.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
