I am applying to be considered for an internship at the prestigious Boston Consulting Group. Currently I am in my final year of undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts with a major in Economics and will be concluding my studies in December of 2016. I have cogitated for a respectable amount of time with my institution’s Career Services and I believe that my studies in Economics and other business courses during my undergraduate career has instilled enough knowledge for me to succeed in any type of economic-based or business environment. I have no doubt that The Boston Consulting Group will provide me with incomparable experiences that I can use to help benefit the company, as well as my own endeavors.

Currently I work at one of Boston’s Main Street programs located in the neighborhood of Fields Corner in Dorchester, MA. I serve as one of Fields Corner Main Street’s Economic Analyst interns. I conduct economic related research that focuses on the demographic of the Fields Corner District. I am also tasked with properly allocating resources throughout the district to different businesses and partners that carry out their business with Fields Corner Main Street. My main objective is to ensure that businesses’ needs are being properly catered to.

Currently striving to be accepted into the International Honor Society of Economics while I finish my undergraduate career, I also carry out other responsibilities. One of these responsibilities include serving as a counselor to high school students, most of which hail from Lawrence, MA. The Upward Bound Mathematics and Science program, sponsored by Nobles and Greenough high school and the University of Massachusetts Boston, aims to take intelligent students from underprivileged families and provide them with experiences that they can take with them as they finish high school and prepare for college. I have also served in a leadership position as a director with the independently owned Riphort Magazine. I served as one of their administrators for their online website and oversaw technology-content related operations. My experience in leading others has allowed me to develop a harder work ethic and I believe that The Boston Consulting Group will provide me with much more than I could ever imagine
