Sample cover letter for Internship position at Briggs and Stratton

POSITION:

Rotational Marketing Internship

September 28, 2015

Dear [Name]:

Please accept this letter as an application for the Rotational Marketing Internship opportunity with Briggs & Stratton Corporation advertised on Career Manager. The opportunity for hands-on experience offered to interns and the opportunity to continue as an intern into the school year brought my attention to this Briggs & Stratton internship.

I am currently a junior majoring in Marketing and minoring in Public Relations. Over the course of my college career, I have developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment as a student intern, for the past three years, at my university’s Special Events office. University Special Events is an event planning office that provides planning and event management for the Office of the President, the University Leadership Council, events hosted by the Board of Trustees, and university-wide and community events. As a student intern, I have performed various event management tasks including guest list management, speaking with guests and prestigious alumni, and event support in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment. I am confident that the experiences I have acquired at University Special Events will make me an ideal candidate for the position of Rotational Marketing Intern.

While I have event management experience, I also have excellent leadership skills and an aptitude for quick thinking. My past experience as Head Lifeguard at Brewster Day Camp, a day camp for children ages five through thirteen, made it necessary for me to step up as a leader in a chaotic environment, direct a team of lifeguards who were my peers, and also make quick decisions in emergency situations.

Therefore, I believe that my leadership skills, partnered with my event management knowledge, make me an excellent candidate for the Briggs & Stratton Corporation Rotational Marketing Internship opportunity.

Please let me know the best time to schedule an interview or if you may need additional information to consider me for this internship. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,
