I am delighted to express my interest in the Graduate Accountant Position at Brophy Knight. Brophy Knight is an excellent organization for me to kick start my career in accounting as it has the potential to provide experience in a wide range of business services and across a diverse range of clients. It was highly impressive to know about the history of the company and encouraging to read through its journey from a sole practitioner to a partnership to now one of the well-known company, which is the leading provider of accounting and financial services. My interest in joining Brophy Knight was further strengthened upon gaining insights into the company culture, business philosophy and the vision and values from the company website.
I am currently enrolled at the University of Canterbury in the Masters of Professional Accounting programme and would complete it in July 2015. In 2014, I successfully completed all of core accounting papers required to gain the provisional membership of the accounting body, CAANZ. These papers have provided me a good theoretical knowledge and also developed my interest in accounting. My ambition is to enhance my knowledge and strengthen my background in this area by successfully completing the professional exams and achieving the Chartered Accountant designation. I believe at Brophy Knight you encourage and provide excellent support and training for the aspiring chartered accountants, which has also been stated on the website.
During my academic career, I have gained and built on important skills including research, analytical, problem solving and time management. These have been achieved through various university assessments and work experiences. My CV provides examples of how I have gained these skills. I am also a computer literate and possess intermediate to advanced working knowledge of various microsoft office products including word, excel, PowerPoint and outlook. Additionally, I also have basic working knowledge of the accounting software packages Xero and BankLink. Furthermore, my CV also provides an overview of my employment history and the associated duties.
I have recently gained experience as an accounts administrator with a small business. and was solely responsible for all of the duties mentioned in the CV. Given this, I have been able to further improve on my core competencies such as taking initiative and ownership of the work, accuracy and attention to details, organizational and planning. However, I am currently with Opinions market research Ltd as market research interviewer and previously held the position of general sales person at Warehouse Stationery. Collectively these work experiences have equipped me with strong communication, inter-personal and teamwork skills. I believe all of the above skills would be highly sought after by you for the firm.
