Sample cover letter for Internship position at CCG
Analyst
To whom it may concern,
I am applying to become an analyst at the Cornell Consulting Group. Through the information session, I got to meet many members of CCG and realized that I could contribute meaningfully to CCG projects. I believe this to be an excellent opportunity to learn and grow with motivated and talented individuals interested in a broad array of business functions. Furthermore, I believe my past experiences make me an excellent candidate for this position.
This past summer, I was an intern at Deloitte Audit in Taipei. The experience not only gave me insight on the work culture in Taiwan, but also familiarized me with corporate financial statements. During my internship, I taught myself how to use the Deloitte Audit software, performed multiple audit procedures on three large international banks, researched potential audit risk calculation improvements, and learned how to deal with clients on a face-to-face basis. In addition, I attended Deloitte’s National NextGen Leadership Conference as a potential human capital consultant. These experiences gave me a detailed understanding of service areas within the largest of the Big Four firms and further cultivated my interest in consulting.
During the information session and the brief networking session afterwards, I realized that CCG would be an excellent fit for me for multiple reasons. I believe the collaborative environment, along with the focus on giving recommendations exclusively to top level management creates an excellent learning space for business leaders. The small group of uniquely distinguished CCG members was the greatest attraction though. My short conversations showed their expertise in their various fields and dedication to the club.
Lastly, as a sophomore in the Hotel School, I am nearing completion of my general business requirements. These provide me with a complete skill set to face project challenges I may encounter in the near future. Moreover, Business Strategy, a course offered at the Johnson School for non-MBA students, and Visual Basic for Applications, two courses I’ve elected to take this semester, are extremely helpful for providing long term, value-adding improvements to the CCG clients. Specifically, if I am selected, I’d like to contribute by assisting in the development of growth strategies, performance improvement techniques, and financial models. Thank you for your time and consideration and I hope to hear back from you very soon.
Regards,
