Dear Dr Hamblin,

My name is Thao Tran. I am currently studying my last year at Monash University, majoring in Marketing and Accounting. I am writing to apply for the internship position as a Quantitative Research Enthusiast at Colmar Brunton as advised by my supervisor, Ms Jane Carroll. This internship is a great opportunity to put my core analytic and communication skills into practice and to work. Colmar Brunton is believed to be the largest market research company in Australia, which works across various categories including FMCG, Services, Social and Government sectors. During 2015, Colmar Brunton had conducted research in Horticulture with Project Harvest reports and in customer satisfaction in multiple industries with Dishwashers or Supermarkets Review Surveys. With Supermarket Review Survey, a fair knowledge in Supermarket industry has been built during my working time at XPO Brands as brand ambassador. Brand ambassador allows me to work at local Coles or Woolworths for almost every campaign. Also, I have learned how to construct research tool such as survey from Market Research unit at university. In 2015, Colmar Brunton also introduced a study measuring media ROI, which allows companies to decide which marketing communication tool is most cost-effective to use, given that every media tool will require a certain financial investment. My mathematics skills developed throughout my Accounting major and my analytical skills from Market Research unit, which I received HD, are important for this project. Finally, my three-year working experience in hospitality and retails can be one of my competences, since FMCG and Services are Colmar Brunton’s focused areas.
