I am writing to express my interest in your Summer Internship position. I found out about the opportunity during the University of Cambridge Careers Fair and I would greatly value a chance to work in your company. I chose to apply to Corporate Value Associates because I was impressed by both the philosophy and the diverse yet close network that Corporate Value Associates Strategy Consultants has established over years. Working at Corporate Value Associates, I would be working for a company who values their employees and customers, and I would have the opportunity to learn from the best consultants in the industry which would help me progress in my career.

I am a second year undergraduate Economics student at University of Cambridge, Sidney Sussex College. I have knowledge of Economics, Mathematics and Statistics. I developed my analytical skills by studying Economics and I know how important attention to detail is. I have a good understanding of different economic models but I also know the importance of questioning why the models may not work in the real world. In addition to the compulsory modules, I chose to study International Trade and Development which gives me a broader picture of what is happening around the world, not only in the region I live.

I am interested in working in Strategy Consulting because I would be exposed to a variety of business problems in multiple industries. I enjoy learning and I am keen to discover more about industries which I would be working with. Working in Strategy Consulting is challenging because of the nature of working on different projects. This is what makes the job attractive to me since there is always more to learn, making it a rewarding experience. I want to develop my skill set for analysing business issues quickly and I would like to work with smart, analytical colleagues.

I come from Poland. I moved to England when I was awarded a British Alumni Society Scholarship to study for my A Levels at St Leonards - Mayfield School. Moving abroad when I was still a teenager taught me to be open for new opportunities and to be flexible. Being born in Poland, I speak Polish as my native language and I am fluent in English language. I also have basic knowledge of German and I took up basic course in Spanish this year with an intention to continue to an intermediate level next year. Working in Consulting often involves travelling abroad and my language skills would give me a big advantage.

My work experience includes working as a Green Impact Auditor at Green Impact Cambridge. It was a voluntary work where I first undertook training on how to conduct an environmental audit. I received and IEMA approved Introduction to Auditing and Evaluating Behaviour Change training certificate. I used the skills which I learnt during the training to assess the environmental compliance of the participating University of Cambridge Colleges or Departments. I worked in a group of two in order to carry out the task. We looked at pieces of evidence such as photographs, documents or other sources of information such as blog entries or websites. The experience helped me to develop my communication, teamwork and project management skills.

With my numerical, analytical and teamwork skills, I am confident that I would excel in the Summer Internship position. I hope you will find my knowledge and experience valuable for a potential addition to Corporate Value Associates.
