Dear Sir/Madam,

As someone who aspires for a successful career in the Investment Banking Industry, Credit Suisse has always appealed to me with its 157 years of globally recognised excellence and its scale of having operations in more than 50 countries. Although attending Credit Suisse’s interactive workshop has deepened this attraction even more, it also changed my perception. Upon listening to Mr Ballman’s presentation I was deeply captivated by Credit Suisse’s collaborative culture. Whilst Mr Hudson’s product control activity not only replicated Credit Suisse’s exciting fast-paced environment; the willingness of the staff in offering explicit help also demonstrated its commitment in promoting and developing young talent. These attractions then resulted in my decision of joining Credit Suisse not only because of its prestigious reputation, but more importantly, because of its supportive culture.

I am applying to Spring Insight because I think a career in the investment banking industry is very exciting; due to the constant challenges proposed by the unpredictable financial markets, and the world changing possibilities of its decisions. Hence I want to grasp this unique opportunity to discover my place, and the skills needed for success in this fascinating industry. The Credit Suisse programme attracts me especially because of the intriguing involvements of its divisions. An example is the Investment Banking division’s one-bank business model. This innovative approach interests me because of its success in producing personalised solutions, allowing the division to receive awards from numerous financial publications such as Euromoney and The Asset. Having recently learnt the basics of preparing consolidated financial statements, I am also excited to see the application of this and other aspects of my course through the Finance division. Being someone who always welcomes challenges, an insight into global operations is also personally attractive. This is due to its intense role in ensuring the confirmation and settlement of all trades, enabling Credit Suisse to earn its impressive net income attributable to shareholders of 1,349 million CHF at the year ending 2012.
