I am writing to express my interest in Credit Suisse’s Sales & Trading Summer Analyst Internship program in Equities & Fixed Income and would appreciate your kind consideration for this internship application.

Currently a student in my final year for a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh seeking to pursue a Masters in Economics in 2015, I believe I possess a strong academic foundation required to pursue a career in sales and trading. I am particularly attracted to trading as I find exposure to a broad range of financial assets and markets highly appealing due to their own individual complexities. I particularly enjoy learning and researching about the Energy and Healthcare sector and this has spurred me to become the Co-Head of the Healthcare sector in the Edinburgh University Trading and Investment Club.

Credit Suisse is an exceptional global leader in Investment Banking and the chance to intern in this business area would be a unique and invaluable opportunity. An internship with Credit Suisse would certainly present me with challenges in which I would thrive, allowing me to leverage my extensive analytical and quantitative problem solving skills and make a significant positive impact in Credit Suisse as a summer intern.

I am a quick learner with excellent interpersonal and communication skills as shown from my work experience and extracurricular activities. Delivering weekly meetings as the Co-Head of the Healthcare sector to 30 members has greatly enhanced my verbal communication skills. Participating in the organisation of the Excellence in Finance 2014 conference, I am responsible for Operations and was also involved with the Liaison Team. Duties include finding and contacting keynote speakers, delivering to tight deadlines and limited budget. This has taught me team working skills, attention to detail and providing tangible results. In addition, I am currently working on my own business venture XXXXXX.com, an online tuition website. As part of this project, I manage the entire process of business creation, from spearheading the project plan to the management of the web designer and the web developer.
