To Credit Suisse Recruitment Team,

I am an incoming student in MSc Finance program at Johns Hopkins University. I am applying for the 2017 summer internship in the Investment Banking Division at Credit Suisse. I have been attracted by corporate finance and fundamental analysis since high school. I have been managing my own portfolio by diversifying and sourcing a portion to investors that have different strategies than I have. I enjoyed comparing financial statements and assessing the impact of economics on business. This year I decided to pursue investment banking through great experiences of studying for CFA and working in HSBC helping clients find and meet their financial needs. I realized advising companies would be very interesting and I want to help companies finance their growth and strategy needs.

My analytical skills have been solidly trained through my continuous academic pursuits; my interpersonal skills were stoutly developed through leadership experiences, such as running student groups, and building client relationships, such as managing accounts. With these skills and an appetite for growth, I will produce incremental value to my Group and broaden my network and resource pools to help business prevail over financial challenges.

I am certain the structured and meticulous approach embraced by Credit Suisse will immensely refine my thinking. The technical excellence and interpersonal mastery that come from working alongside warm, perseverant and gritty colleagues will accelerate my growth. Last but not least, your people’s sense of humility, fostered by donating time and money to NGO such as Habitat for Humanity, harbours admirable solidarity. Your excellent working environment coupled with a respect for objectivity and rationality in times of exuberance, diversifying accordingly during the financial crisis and not overexposing to high risk assets, is a combination I aspire to build for myself and those around me.
