Sample cover letter for Internship position at Cummins
Internship
I am writing this letter to apply for the Internship Program (Job Number: IME00000154) at Cummins. I am interested in the supply chain process and I believe I am qualified for the position with my education and extra curricular experience. I expect to graduate in June 2016 from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
I have gained valuable experience from my internships at Emerson, and Schneider Electric. I learned a great deal of the processes involved in the production, as well as the maintenance, Quality Control and Product Testing procedures involved. In addition, courses at university such as Internal Combustion Engines have educated me on engine operations, engine designs and operating characteristics.
I am also actively involved in the interest oriented clubs. At the UCLA Aerospace Club, I was responsible for managing and organizing educational trips and events with limited budgets. With the enterprising team at the Environment Club, we have been conducting workshops and conferences to raise awareness. I am also a member of the UCLA Engineers Without Borders club which aims to foster innovative solutions to end poverty and build a sustainable society for poor communities around the world. At university, I was assisting the faculty for grading test papers and assignments.
I am a committed team player who believes in hard work and determination to achieve my goals. With my technical and interpersonal skills, I believe I will be a good addition to the team at Cummins.
I am certain I will not only gain valuable experience in my field, but also enhance my social and communication skills, make new friends and have a great experience. I look forward to working at the dynamic and innovative environment at Cummins.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this application and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Yours sincerely,
