Sample cover letter for Internship position at Curious

POSITION:

Lead Consultant

GOT THE JOB? Yes

Dear Ms. XXX:

I am very excited at the prospect of working for your company. I first became interested in the

position when I saw my friend, XXX, finding leads and importing them into your

database. This has given me a glimpse into how your company works and has peaked my interest

even more. My interest in YouTube itself goes far beyond that. Beginning when I was in middle

school, I posted videos on a channel my friends and I had made. Since that time, YouTube has

been and will always be, a great source of knowledge for my everyday life.

As my past work experience shows I am always excited to learn new skills. In having many jobs,

I have acquired a healthy sum of knowledge from a wide variety of fields of work. This describes

my personality quite well in that I am always on the hunt for something new to learn and new

skills to add to my repertoire. Through these jobs, I have acquired many skills that I think would

be beneficial for this position. Specifically I have gained excellent independent time management

skills, multitasking abilities, and creativity.

Uncle Ed’s Oil Shoppe gave me both a challenge and an opportunity to learn something new. At

Uncle Ed’s there is a fifteen-minute guarantee for oil changes. As the lower bay technician, I had

a large part in not only the timing of the oil changes, but the flow of vehicles through the shop as

a whole. I was the only technician underneath the vehicles in our five bay store. This meant I was

responsible for completing all of the services started upstairs as well as my specific tasks. Time

management was especially important when I had several services to complete on cars that had

arrived at different times, and still had to juggle the regular oil changes that were coming in.

Another valuable skill that I learned from Uncle Ed’s is multitasking. The three main functions

we were expected to perform were organization, services, and upkeep of the shop. When

servicing underneath a car I was also responsible for keeping all of my tools in order, as well as

making sure that the lower bay, which included the floors, equipment, and oil catches, were clean

and orderly at all times. Keeping these directives in mind while striving to service each car as

efficiently as possible taught me to finish multiple goals at once, while considering tasks that had

to be completed down the road.

Creativity has been one of my strong suites ever since I can remember. I have been an artist since

I could hold a pencil, so naturally I have always had a creative eye. My time working for Denny’s

Landscaping let me put some of that to good use. Most customers would have a general idea of

how they wanted their landscape to look but wouldn’t have a solid design. By using both my

creativity and interpersonal skills, I was able to work with the costumer to translate their ideas

into a concrete plan, which we could then make a reality.

In summary I think my interests and skills make me an excellent fit for Curious. I believe that my

time management skills well help insure that I accomplish all of my tasks in a productive and

orderly fashion. My multitasking skills will allow me to find leads and information needed to

contact teachers in the most time efficient manner. My creativity will be beneficial in that it will

be used to think outside the box in searching for informative videos. I look forward to speaking

with you in the future.
