What attracts me to Deloitte is that it offers an extremely open work environment, which encourages initiative and responsibility, where I will be encouraged to realize my full potential. Values that I have been brought up with, and share with Deloitte’s core values are hard work, commitment, integrity and continuous growth and improvement. I would categorize myself as a long-term thinker, who loves looking for alternate solutions to problems. I am a passionate and committed individual who has a will to succeed. With a double major in Finance and Strategic Management, my educational background will prove well suited for a role in the Financial Advisory Services sector.

Leadership initiatives at both the University and High School level have helped me develop the responsibility, commitment and professionalism required of a quality employee. At an internship earlier (in 2014), I spearheaded a project on the viability of manufacturing ‘Measuring Tapes’. For this, I had to apply the knowledge I had gained through the two-week vocational training programme, which involved getting acquainted with the 14 different departments at the company. It also involved several interactions with senior management and negotiations with external parties. I had to predict if the project would be feasible in the long run, considering several factors such as cost estimates of different components, price fluctuations of factor inputs as well as labour availability. The internship further honed my leadership, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.

I was also part of the Executive Committee of the Golf Club. I was in charge of organizing events for the Golf Club and allocating people to participate in events organized by other universities. I assisted in organizing the University Golf Day, held in May 2014. I helped raise S$8,000 in the form of sponsorships and helped secure over 80 participants from the top three universities in Singapore, in less than four months. For this, I had to prioritize and delegate work. This experience really helped me improve my delegation, organisational and time management skills.
