I am a sophomore at XXX University majoring in Mathematical Economic Analysis and potentially Computer Science and would like to be considered for the Human Capital Summer Scholar at Deloitte. At XXX, I have been exposed to the world of research, analysis and problem solving. However, in addition of learning the knowledge, I want to apply it in reality and challenge myself in the real world of consulting, helping clients resolve problems as well as improving myself in the meantime. Therefore I am very interested in your internship program. My experience and technical skills include the following:

• Economic and Business Analysis: I have taken multiple economic and business classes and have excelled in all of them. I am comfortable with both qualitative and quantitative analysis and am eager to utilize my knowledge to solve issues and problems encountered by different companies.

• Statistical Analysis: To enhance my quantitative analytical skill, I have taken statistics and econometrics courses at Rice and am planning to take more statistical classes in the future. I am proficient with STATA in doing econometric and data analysis.

• Computer Skills: Besides statistics, I have also taken classes in computer science to better equip myself with technical skills. I’m familiar with Java, Python and HTML and am ready to apply my skills in industry analysis. For instance, I have done a project to predict the outcomes of stock market in the future utilizing Markov model based on actual data from past 50 years.
