I am writing to apply for an Intern position at X. I saw the position advertised in my University’s careers website and was excited by the prospect of being able to experience management consultancy at a leading firm such as yours, where I will be able to work with a diverse range of clients across a range of sectors. I am studying a Bachelor of Science and Commerce at X with majors in Investment Finance, Corporate Finance and Anthropology. I plan to follow this with an additional honours year, and would graduate in 2016. I would love the opportunity to intern with X during semester one 2015, in a part-time role, but am flexible on availabilities. I was particularly drawn to X as I look forward to being able to participate fully in projects, perform meaningful work and take on real responsibilities as an Intern. I identify closely with your organisations desire for meaningful change. As an example, upon returning from study abroad, I sought to bring back some of the great experiences I had in the US college sport culture. In my first semester back, I founded the Uni Basketball Club and took a leadership role in the Uni Sports Council and created a more social sporting scene at my University. My key qualities are my work ethic and desire to continually improve, as you can see from my experiences outside the classroom, as well as academic success. In addition, through my extracurricular activities, I have developed strong interpersonal skills and am able to operate effectively both as a leader and member of a team. With this skillset, I am able to learn quickly on the job. This was demonstrated in my recent vacation work placement at X. Within a short three week program, I quickly learned to complete financial audit tests independently. I am confident that I possess the correct attributes for this role and am excited for the opportunity to work with X. Thank you for taking the time to consider my application.
