When I think of Deloitte, I see much more than just a name among the Big Four. Rather, I see a company that continuously strives to create values and to make real impacts by guiding people around the globe toward better decision making. Growing up struggling to define myself in a patriarchal society, I have grown to believe that knowledge is power – that is, if we all have the knowledge to make better decisions, we all would have the power to transform our lives. So imagine my delight when I discovered an opening for a Financial Advisory Services Internship at company that brings impacts through knowledge and decision making. With my profound passion for finance, my extensive knowledge in business and real-world experiences in advisory role, I believe that I have what it takes not only to excel at this internship but also to make impacts for myself and for others. Please allow me to briefly discuss the qualifications that would make me an excellent candidate for this Financial Advisory Services position.

In the past, I have had many experiences with tasks that involved strong analytical, problem-solving, and effective communication skills. During my junior year in high school, I was the Co-President of a community service organization where I had planned and managed more than 20 fundraising events. In order to meet project deadlines yet still delivering results, it was important that I had to constantly coordinate and communicate different units toward specific goals. I was also responsible for ensuring the financial stability of the organization by keeping record of fundings as well as finding ways to acquire new funds. These experiences along with others have allowed me to improve my communication and interpersonal skills as well as to realize my strength in problem-solving and leadership.

As mentioned in my résumé, I have had the chance to conduct academic research and prepare business proposals that required me to combine my business knowledge and analytical skill. By utilizing concepts such as risk factors, ratio analysis, cash flows and effectively employing different research tools, I was able to deliver quality work and to attain top grade in class. Beyond the classroom, I had also enjoyed my time at Farmers Insurance where I had gained quite some valuable advisory and customer service experiences. My internship at Farmers Insurance had enabled me to refine my critical thinking skill as I had to design personalized insurance plan to suit each of my client’s needs and financial ability. These projects and work experiences have heightened my great passion in finance. They have also gotten me to realize my strength in analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills - those that are essential to a career in finance and would enable me to succeed at my internship at Deloitte.
